Career Highlights:

2013

The 2013 season marked Cruz Pedregon’s sixth season driving a nitro-powered Toyota Camry in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. In the previous five seasons, he has registered three top-four overall championship finishes. He has a career best E.T. of 3.997 over 1000 feet along with a top speed of 316.75 mph entering the 2013 campaign. Along with his two championships, Pedregon has 38 career wins with his 34 Funny Car victories tying for fifth on the all-time win list.

2012

In 2012, he won the season-ending NHRA Finals at Pomona, as well as posting five number one qualifiers on the way to a fourth-place finish.

2011

Pedregon’s championship hopes went all the way to the semi-final round of the final race of the 2011 season. He earned one victory (Dallas) and advanced to the semi-finals or beyond 10 times, as well as earning six number one qualifying positions.

2010

After struggling early in 2010, Pedregon closed the season with a flurry, winning two Countdown events and qualifying in the top six in each of the season’s final 10 races.

2009

He placed 11th overall. In 2009, he made four semi-finals on the way to placing 12th overall.

2008

Pedregon won the season’s final three races in 2008 to capture his second NHRA Nitro Funny Car championship (the first being in 1992).  He started in alcohol dragsters in 1987, it didn’t take long to hit his stride as he won six races in 1990 before moving up to Nitro Funny Car in 1992 — and winning the championship, as well as Rookie-of-the-Year honors.
