NHRA® Team Report
NHRA Gatornationals – Gainesville
Cruz Pedregon and team tested in Phoenix in preparation of the Gatornationals and are looking to make things happen on the track in Gainesville. “Gainesville is a good track for us…four number one qualifiers and a win here.”
Crew Chief Aaron Brooks says, “We’re still working on the clutch. And, like Cruz, I’m meticulous about the car. So, we’re going over every aspect of it and expect to have things come together soon.”
The team is continuing its fan favorite tradition of naming the car body that will run at each race. This weekend, you can expect to see El Guapo, “the handsome one,” on the track.
Prior to the race this week, Cruz visited several auto shops in the area with three Snap-on Franchisees. He took the time to talk tools, NHRA racing and sign autographs for
Snap-on customers in the Gainesville area, which has become an annual event prior before the Gatornationals.
On the Side of Cruz’s Car – Gainesville
Check out Cruz’s car and you’ll see the name of Snap-on Franchisee David Mortensen. David was an auto technician, shop foreman for a dealership and a Snap-on “junkie” in his previous career. He says he likes the independence of his franchise business and interacting with his customers. David has been a regular at the Gatornationals, and he’ll spend some time in Cruz’s pit and in the stands here at the track with us this weekend.
